Wet and dry risers for high rise situations.

Wet and dry risers are normally found in buildings with four floors or more and are located at each floor level. In the event of a fire they provide a constant water delivery point for hoses on each floor.
As with fire extinguishers and hoses, it is vital that risers are in good working order. Risers should be checked and serviced twice a year in accordance with British Standards.
The first 6-month service is a wet pressure test to 150 PSI or 10 Bar for a minimum of 15 minutes. All inlets and outlets are checked for leaks and a full flow test is completed. Any missing or faulty items are then replaced to enable certification to be provided. The second 6-month service is a visual inspection and service with any missing items reported and documented. Remedial action can be taken immediately.
